Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced today that the government would be pursuing new amendments to the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (CFPOA). According to the website for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the amendments include the following proposals: (1) Books and Records offense: Like the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, this amendment will add a new books and records offense into the CFPOA.
